Margit Warburg is dr. phil. and Professor emerita of Sociology of Religion, University of Copenhagen. Theoretically, her research interests are the relationship between religion and migration, religion and globalisation, religion and demography, religious minorities, secular rituals, and civil religion. Empirically, she has published books and articles on Baha’is, on Jews, on new religions, on the teaching of religion in schools, on the Evangelical Lutheran Church, on the Danish Church abroad. Her dr. phil. was Citizens of the World. A History and Sociology of the Baha’is from a Globalisation Perspective, Brill 2006. She has published in among others Journal of Ritual Studies, Nordic Journal of Religion and Society, Social Compass, Journal of Church and State, Journal of Contemporary Religion, Journal of Religion in Europe, and Implicit Religion.
